First of all, the vinyl edition is better sounding then the download. The recording is just great! Molecules manages to surprise.... It is interesting, and absolutely not boring, and relaxing at the same time. Just wonderful!
Less conceptual than 'Stages of Sleep' and more Swiss zen-funk of the Nik Bartsch and Don Li school...not derivative but more apt to show its influences,it is more robust than their first album (but then,it's trying to say something different anyway and it's a progression).I like the dirtier textures on show here and the more assured depth of field.
Chill, fusion-y jazz that just grooves and grooves. Seems like these guys know how to play forever and never get boring. Though this clocks in at more of a long EP length at just under 40 minutes, there's at least a full album's worth of quality music here.
An inspirational collaboration, and not one you would instantly imagine working...Sonar are such a tight and disciplined unit it's difficult to think where Reuter and Rebus might find adequate space...mysteriously, it all just works out fine! John Cratchley
